ST. PAUL, Minn. — Harris Companies, a leading national mechanical contractor, announced it has purchased Quality Mechanical Contractors based in Las Vegas. Founded in 1971, Quality Mechanical specializes in industrial, commercial, and residential HVAC, plumbing, piping, and sheet metal fabrication. With this acquisition, Harris Companies said it enhances its presence in the western U.S.

Quality Mechanical’s diverse portfolio includes tenant improvements, high-profile central plants, large-scale government contracting, and mega-resorts. The company has been involved in some major projects in Las Vegas, including Aria City Center, T-Mobile Arena, University of Nevada-Las Vegas, and McCarran Airport. Led by Doug Lea, president, Quality Mechanical employs 127 skilled professionals. Lea said, “We are excited about becoming a part of the Harris family and we look forward to leveraging the added resources and capabilities Harris offers in order to best serve our clients in the region.”

Harris Companies’ president of construction, Michel Michno, said, “Quality Mechanical’s strong position as a full-service mechanical contractor in Nevada and California, as well as its expertise in designing and building complex projects with demanding schedules, make it a great fit with Harris Companies. Harris is looking forward to working with Quality’s impressive staff as it services its customers nationwide.”

Harris Companies said Quality Mechanical has strong brand recognition in the area and will retain its company name for the foreseeable future. It will operate as a division of Harris Companies. “In any acquisition the cultural fit of the acquired company and the new parent company is critical for success,” said Harris Companies CEO Greg Hosch. “The leadership and employees of Quality share the values that will make for a quick and effective integration with Harris Companies.”
