DAVIDSON, N.C. — American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning, a brand of Ingersoll Rand, has received two Award for Design Excellence (ADEX) 2015 Platinum Awards. The AccuComfort™ Platinum 18 Air Conditioner and the Gold 824 Smart Control have both been recognized with ADEX awards, recognizing them for superior design.

“We are thrilled to win two Platinum ADEX awards, which are widely recognized as being among the most prestigious product awards,” said Anne Morris, brand manager for American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning. “The ADEX awards further strengthen the third-party recognition our brand has earned over the past several years and reflect our commitment to providing our customers with the highest-quality solutions.”

Established in 1994, ADEX is one of the largest product design awards competitions in the architecture and design industry. This is the first time American Standard won two awards in one year. Last year, the brand won a 2014 Platinum Award for the AccuComfort 20 heat pump; in 2013 the brand won a Platinum Award for its Nexia™ smart home system.

The two 2015 award-winning products are designed to enable users to optimize comfort and control in their homes.

The American Standard Platinum 18 Air Conditioner features AccuComfort technology which allows the multi-stage system to consistently adjust to run at a more efficient speed, maintaining homeowners’ personal comfort levels in their homes. Offering up to 18 SEER, this variable speed system is one of the most efficient home air conditioners on the market. Connecting the unit with American Standard’s AccuLink™ Controls and Nexia allows homeowners to manage their homes’ cooling remotely with smartphones, tablets, and computers.

The American Standard Gold 824 Smart Control, a whole-home automation hub, features an in-home, wall-mounted unit with a 4-1/3 inch high-definition color touchscreen that can program seven days of temperatures with up to six schedules per day. It also includes a five-day weather forecast and weather radar display, an indoor relative humidity display, as well as HVAC filter, maintenance, and humidifier reminders.

Featuring a built-in home automation bridge, the thermostat can connect the entire home in one place. The bridge can connect more than 200 additional Z-Wave products — including door locks, lighting, security and property protection devices, and more — to the Nexia application.
