The honor details the creation of the company’s EcoWise portfolio of products earlier this year. These products, such as the Trane Sintesis air-cooled chiller and the Trane E Series CenTraVac large capacity chiller, are designed to lower environmental impact by providing high-efficiency HVAC systems using next-generation, low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants.

In September 2014, Ingersoll Rand made public its climate commitment to achieve a 50 percent reduction in greenhouse gas refrigerant footprint of its products by 2020, and incorporating alternatives with lower global warming potential across the company’s product portfolio by 2030; make a $500 million investment in product-related research and development over the next five years to fund the long-term reduction of GHG emissions; and a 35 percent reduction in greenhouse gas footprint of its operations by 2020.
