Fedrizzi to Step Down as CEO of US Green Building Council
The USGBC oversees the LEED green building certification program
WASHINGTON — Rick Fedrizzi, CEO and founding chair of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), has announced that he will be stepping down as CEO at the end of 2016 to make way for a leadership transition that will take place in January 2017.
“USGBC has reached a point in its maturity where I feel comfortable making this decision, knowing that I will continue to contribute to the ongoing trajectory of the green building movement as a volunteer in any way I can,” said Fedrizzi.
“The board has already set up a search committee to identify candidates for the CEO position. The goal is to complete the process in a timely way so that I have sufficient time to work with that individual to insure a smooth transition and continuity of leadership.”
