N.C. HVAC Dealer Connects Multiple Locations with Broadview's OfficeSuite

System Provides Greater Flexibility and Mobility

April 20, 2015

RYE BROOK, N.Y. — Broadview Networks®, a cloud-based provider of communications and information technology services, has deployed its OfficeSuite® Phone for Down East Heating and Air Conditioning, a residential and commercial HVAC contractor in Jacksonville, North Carolina, to connect its two offices.

With its previous system, Down East employees did not have the mobility they needed, and their service proved unreliable. “Our old system was not cloud-based so we had outdated hardware, bad connections, and dropped calls,” said Brandon Futral, Down East’s information technology manager. “In the HVAC industry, when a customer’s heating or air conditioning system breaks, that is a real emergency. We need to be reachable 24/7, or those customers will go elsewhere for their service needs.”

As the business grew, the company expanded to a second office, and Futral knew they needed a cloud-based communications system that would give their more than 50 employees true flexibility and mobility. After carefully considering various providers, Futral and his team added Broadview’s OfficeSuite® Phone system.

“We compared many different companies side by side and asked around the IT community for recommendations,” Futral said. “Broadview had all of the multi-location features we were looking for and the option to rent the equipment, allowing us to move to the cloud for no up-front cost. Their cost model was hugely important for a small business like ours.

“As a heating and cooling company, we receive calls 24/7, with an even higher-than-usual call volume during the summertime. The ability to automatically forward calls to the after-hours call center as an automated process is priceless. We used to have to forward each line individually, but with OfficeSuite Phone, you just set it and forget it.”

In addition to providing employees with greater flexibility and mobility, OfficeSuite® Phone has also boosted business operations by ensuring someone from Down East is always reachable and removing the IT burden from Futral’s daily tasks.

“We can forward calls to any other phone or mobile device easily so our employees can work from anywhere, which is so important because our technicians are constantly on the road and making service calls,” said Futral. “Further, from the administrator standpoint, being able to set up different employees, mailboxes, permissions, and call groups so easily has saved me time and made my job much easier.”

Down East Heating and Air Conditioning is a growing company and has expanded to provide additional services, including duct cleaning and sealing, sheet metal fabrication, equipment retrofitting and replacement, and guttering services. With its continued success, adding another location in the future will be a seamless process. “We know that no matter how many locations we add, OfficeSuite will connect them, and we will have the same features in every office,” said Futral. “I have already recommended Broadview to colleagues and will continue to do so in the future.”
