“Nobody has more efficient products than LG,” proclaimed Kevin McNamara, vice president, Commercial Air Conditioning Systems, LG Electronics USA, at a Tuesday morning press conference at the AHR Expo.
LG now provides up to 36 IEER, which McNamara said is the highest in the industry. And the company is “looking to push this into the 40s.”
With its Art Cool Mirror, LG is trying to make its ductless indoor units “not intrusive.” The company has expanded Art Cool with three more models.
LG will also be offering more options encompassing all of the products that the company makes. It will be bringing in solar, lighting, and other products “to create a sustainable environment,” said McNamara.
LG solutions include an interface with Nest and other third party controls. The company is also integrating VRF with third party air handlers so that customers “don’t have to make radical changes.”
LG has developed new tools and services, which include a telepresence app (TPS) that provides visual, remote, on-site troubleshooting through the user’s smartphone. It allows transmission of site conditions to the technical support center. TPS delivers real time support, step-by-step instructions, improved troubleshooting accuracy and visual symptom confirmation.
LG is also releasing its new Smart Inverter Monitoring Systems (SIMs) 2.0 app, a maintenance and troubleshooting tool for LG ductless split air conditioning systems. The tool, when connected to an outdoor unit, sends system data to the contractor via the SIMs app, allowing the contractor to offer support for LG products in real time, wherever he or she might be.
Also new for 2015 is a 10/10 Limited Extended Warranty for LG Excellence Contractors. The limited warranty provides an additional five years on parts and three years on compressors to enable LG Excellence Contractors to offer their customers a 10/10 limited warranty on the installation of qualifying home comfort solutions in 2015.
