DALLAS — AT&T Fleet Management Solutions have been developed to provide companies with field workers near real-time information on the status of deployed vehicles and equipment. Businesses, such as contracting companies, can gain new insights to save money on fuel and provide better customer service.

AT&T said it delivers bundled solutions to meet the needs of specific industries. AT&T Fleet Management Solutions deliver automatic updates to field managers which can help them identify quicker routes for drivers, track hours of service, pinpoint unnecessary idle times, inform the customer of a vehicle’s location, and monitor driver behavior and vehicle conditions to increase safety.

“Since 2012, we’ve seen an 85 percent increase in the number of end users for AT&T Fleet Management Solutions,” said Mike Troiano, vice president, advanced mobility solutions, AT&T Business Solutions. “Companies are looking beyond smartphones and tablets to help mobilize their business. We offer a full complement of fleet management services to help improve efficiency and performance for customers.”

HVAC contractor, I.C.E. Heating & Cooling, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, is an example of a customer that was able to streamline operations after adopting the AT&T Fleet Complete solution. In an industry in which scheduled routes are always changing, being able to identify the closest driver to a dispatch site on a map enables the company to reach customers faster, as well as be more fuel efficient. Dispatchers can also receive alerts for speeding, fuel overtime, and other vehicle maintenance information, helping to keep their technicians safe while on the road.

“We strive to provide the best service to our customers. With AT&T Fleet Complete, we know where our technicians are, we can get them to our customers faster, and we can better manage maintenance on our vehicles. Not only that, we saw a return on our investment for the solution within the first three weeks of using it,” said Brett Miller, CEO, I.C.E. Heating & Cooling.

AT&T Fleet Management Solutions support nine installed fleet hardware models, four tablet and mobile data terminal models, and three types of asset trackers. Businesses can choose between 15 different hardware options and have access to a web-based fleet management dashboard to monitor their fleets from virtually anywhere.

AT&T offers businesses a complete suite of mobile solutions to mobilize people, processes, and assets. The company said more than 35 percent of AT&T Fleet Management customers are using additional mobile solutions to increase productivity within their workforce. For example, customers also use AT&T Mobile Forms to update and transfer time-sensitive materials such as work orders, sales orders, and timesheets from a mobile device. Companies can electronically process real-time records to avoid reporting mistakes and more effectively manage their field teams.
