ARLINGTON, Va. — The Air Conditioning Contractors of America Educational Institute (ACCA-EI) Standards Task Team (STT) has announced an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) public review period for Addendum E to ANSI/ACCA 2 Manual J - 2011. The public review period has a comment deadline of Oct. 13, 2014.

Addendum E pertains to the eighth edition of Manual J®, Version 2.11 (MJ8™) weather data Tables 1A and 1B. This addendum provides notice that (a) the weather data values for outdoor design conditions in these tables are updated and (b) a degree day ratio (HDD base 65°F / CDD base 50°F) column has been added to both tables. The purpose of the change is to (a) provide the most recent weather data by consolidating information from two separate authoritative sources and to (b) present heating degree day (HDD-65) and cooling degree day (CDD-50) ratios as required for heat pump selection and sizing per ANSI/ACCA 3 Manual S® – 2014. This proposed revision has no effect on the underlying Manual J or Manual S procedures that use weather data values.
