ANKENY, Iowa — QA Graphics, a provider of design services for the building automation industry, has completed a unique residential building automation system (BAS) graphics project for New England Energy Controls Inc. (NEEC).

NEEC is a HVAC service contractor based in East Haddam, Connecticut, serving building owners both as a HVAC service provider and energy cost managing contractor/consultant. NEEC first looked to QA Graphics in 2013 to provide BAS system graphics for a high school project. Then a high-end residential project came up for bid. Because of its ability to provide custom BAS graphics, NEEC chose QA Graphics to provide all of the system graphics for this 18,000-square-foot residential project.

KMC Controls was the building automation system installed on this residential project. QA Graphics provided all of the system graphics for use on the KMC Total Control platform. This included custom graphics for the site plan, navigation, semi-realistic floor plans as well as 3D graphics to realistically showcase the 12 air handling units and geothermal system located on the property. Alarm notifications have been put in place to notify the owners via email and text messaging and the graphics are accessible by the owner at a designated workstation in the home, as well as on an iPad.

“The QA team has been great. Very responsive to emails and phone calls,” said Greg Morris, director of building automation technical services, New England Energy Controls. “The graphics look fantastic. 3D floor plans are more expensive, but to really show off the best graphics that are out there, I definitely think that these are a step up.”

QA Graphics is experienced with providing custom system graphics and floor plan graphics for most building automation systems, including Alerton, American Auto Matrix, Andover Continuum, Automated Logic, Computrols, Delta, Distech Controls, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, KMC Controls, Novar Controls, Reliable Controls, Schneider Electric Struxure, Siemens Building Technologies, Teletrol, Trane, and Tridium AX and R2.
