TROY, Mich. — Tom Peric, an editor with more than 15 years of experience in the HVACR industry, has been appointed editor of Distribution Center magazine, effective July 1. Distribution Center is the official publication of Heating, Air-conditioning, and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI), the single voice of wholesale distribution within the HVACR industry.

“Tom is a well-known figure in the HVACR industry and has demonstrated a fine grasp of the issues,” said Mike Murphy, publisher, Distribution Center. “As the industry evolves with increasing challenges, Tom is the ideal candidate to identify and explain those issues to our readership.”

Peric served as the founding editor of the HARDI magazine (under a different name) from June 2005 to Aug. 2011.

“I’m delighted to be back,” Peric said. “The issues that affect the HVAC distribution industry and HARDI are both challenging and scintillating to cover in this ever-more complex world. It’s fun and challenging to write about it.”

Peric has spent most of his adult career as a journalist. He was a reporter in Washington, District of Columbia, and served as an editor at various publications in northeast Ohio, including a stint as business editor for a daily newspaper.

Peric is also a businessperson and author. He started Cherry Hill, New Jersey-based Galileo Communications Inc. in 1996, offering editorial and public relations consulting.

“Tom is the best editor I’ve ever worked with, which includes my time in other industries before coming to HARDI, and I can’t wait to see what he is able to do with our magazine,” said Talbot Gee, executive vice president and COO, HARDI. “The launch of Distribution Center magazine couldn’t have gone much better over the last 2.5 years, but it’s now ready to grow again and step up to another level with Tom’s leadership.”
