CLEVELAND — The Heat Exchange Institute (HEI) has announced the release of the first edition of Standards for Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers. HEI said the first edition of the standard represents another step in its continuing program to provide standards that reflect the latest technological advancements in the field of heat exchange equipment.

The HEI formally approved the formation of its Plate Heat Exchanger Section in 2011. Since then, the members of the section have used their expertise and working knowledge of plate heat exchangers to produce a design standard. This standard provides users with information on plate heat transfer technology, thermal and hydraulic heat exchange performance, mechanical design standards, assembly and fabrication, testing and preparation, and operational considerations.
