Course Description: The four-day course is designed to train technicians to systematically apply procedures to analyze dual-fuel equipment operation and comfort conditions. The participant applies troubleshooting procedures to determine if there is a problem with a dual-fuel equipment installation without removal of panels. Topics covered include the fundamentals of gas combustion, efficiency ratings and types combustion in different furnaces, residential gas ignition controls, dual-fuel controls, gas-pipe sizing, venting, factors affecting the conditioned space, different methods of calculating airflow, and total and sensible heat formulas. Attendees can earn 27 Alabama contractor continuing education credits and North American Technician Excellence (NATE) continuing education units (CEUs).
