BURNSVILLE, Minn. — VerticalXchange LLC announced that Nick Sattler has been named as the new director for MechanicalXchange, one of the 12 annual eXchanges produced by VerticalXchange. Greg Geisler, VerticalXchange CEO, said, “MechanicalXchange has grown into one of the most important annual events in the mechanical contractor marketplace, and Nick’s experience of running one of our other eXchanges, ProcessTechnologyXchange, for the food and beverage manufacturing sector will be a huge asset to the MechanicalXchange.”

Sattler started his career with Heinz North America, then moved on to a senior sales position with Thompson Reuters, and joined VerticalXchange in 2010. Within three years he has grown from an account manager to a director and leader across multiple industry sectors within VerticalXchange. “I look forward to working closely with our influential advisory board and Mike Murphy, publisher of The NEWS, to continue building on the great value MechanicalXchange brings to the industry,” said Sattler.

VerticalXchange is a leader in the one-on-one “hosted buyer” industry and specializes in buy-side eXchanges. “The key to the success of all of our eXchanges is that the entire process begins by recruiting our buy-side partners first, then conducting an extensive discovery process about their specific needs. The entire process culminates with a series of private, one-on-one meetings between the senior management/ownership from the buy side [such as mechanical contractors], and the senior management teams from large manufacturers and solution providers,” said Geisler.

Sattler will be joined by Heather Alexson, who just became a member of the VerticalXchange team. She has previous experience in sales dealing specifically with engineers in the prototype manufacturing industry, at Proto Labs.

Geisler led the initial launch of MechanicalXchange in 2005 and will guide the leadership change. “I launched us into the HVAC space nine years ago with John Conrad, retired publisher of The NEWS, and look forward to working closely with Nick and Heather to make sure MechanicalXchange is even better in the next nine years” he said.
