The Elite® Series EL296E is a high-efficiency, two-stage gas furnace. It has a 96 percent AFUE rating. When paired with one of the manufacturer’s electric heat pumps, the Energy Star®-qualified furnace offers the efficiency of dual-fuel, creating a system that can use either gas or electricity to provide heat, and when paired with one of the company’s matching air conditioners, the furnace can in-crease the overall SEER of an entire system. Power Saver™ technology enhances home comfort with a quietly operating Power Saver motor that helps maintain consistent airflow. The furnace offers a 33-inch profile that allows for use of the larger coils needed for high-efficiency systems and IAQ accessories, even in limited-space applications. Top venting and combustion air connections, along with full-length, factory-formed discharge flanges allow easy installation and superior system sealing, said the company. A sealed blower compartment minimizes air loss, while improving efficiency and comfort for consumers. Features include a Duralok Plus™ heat exchanger made with patented ArmorTuf™ steel, a robust stainless steel secondary heat exchanger, which allows the furnace to achieve higher efficiency levels by capturing additional heat, and a silicon nitride construction SureLight® ignitor, to ensure reliability and longer product life.
