U.S. Department of Education Holds Webinar
Event Held in Collaboration With HVAC Excellence
WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Education, in collaboration with HVAC Excellence, recently hosted a webinar for HVACR educators so they could hear directly from the Department of Education about policies that will impact funding for HVACR programs.
The one-hour webinar began with a discussion on the revision of the Perkins Act. The Perkins Act, which began as the Vocational Technical Education Improvement Act of 1963, provides funding to career and technical education (CTE) programs. Perkins funds enable programs to purchase new equipment, expand programs into new areas, and allow the instructor to attend conferences for professional development.
The funding would be based on four key areas: alignment, collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
