MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) President Warren Heeley and Ontario Geothermal Association (OGA) President John Bosman have signed an affiliation agreement that will make OGA a part of the HRAI organization.

This agreement is the culmination of more than 12 months of discussions between the two associations to work out terms that will be of value to members of both groups.

The key areas of service that HRAI and OGA will provide for the geothermal sector include government advocacy, training and certification, marketing and industry statistics. Action plans in these areas of services are currently being developed by the two associations.

“This new affiliation agreement is a welcome opportunity that will enhance HRAI’s service and value for both HRAI and OGA members. We intend to work diligently with OGA to ensure the best possible outcome for all members,” said Heeley.

Membership renewals of the OGA members within HRAI will be coordinated over the next few months. OGA will be an affiliated association (i.e. chapter) similar to the other such local and provincial groups that HRAI currently has in the province. Existing HRAI member contractors, wholesalers, manufacturers, and associates who are currently engaged in the geothermal sector in Ontario will have the opportunity to join with OGA within the HRAI structure.
