PITTSBURGH — Affordable Comfort Institute (ACI) announced that Carrier and Dow Building Solutions will serve as host sponsors for the 2013 National Home Performance Conference in Denver, April 30 to May 3, 2013. This is the first time in ACI’s 26-year history that the organization will welcome international manufacturers as host sponsors.

“Carrier and Dow’s investment in ACI is a measure of the strength of the home performance and weatherization industry,” said Amy Fazio, CEO, ACI. “Their commitment proves that we represent a stand-alone industry, in which manufacturers can invest in order to stay ahead of their competitors.”

The home performance and weatherization industry creates solutions for the comfort, health, and durability of residential buildings by exploring how buildings use energy and how building materials and appliances affect energy efficiency, air circulation, and moisture. Homeowners seek solutions to enhance comfort, lower energy costs, and utilize sustainable resources. Weatherization assistance programs exist to help low-income households improve comfort and lower utility bills through renovations that are funded by community action agencies, non-profit groups, or local governments.

The event attracts members of all sectors of the home performance and weatherization industry, including contractors, building analysts, utilities, government representatives, and more.
