The Tranquility® 22 Two-Stage Compact (TY) Series water-source heat pumps exceed ASHRAE 90.1 efficiencies with two-stage operation. They also use EarthPure® (HFC-410A) zero ozone depletion refrigerant. Available in sizes 2 through 5 tons with multiple cabinet options (vertical upflow and horizontal) the TY offers a wide range of units for most any installation. According to the manufacturer, it also has one of the industry’s smallest footprints, making it suitable for installation in tight places and for the replacement/retrofit market. The TY has an extended range refrigerant circuit, capable of ground loop (geothermal) applications as well as water loop (boiler-tower) applications. Standard features are Copeland UltraTech™ two-stage unloading scroll compressor, ECM variable fan motor, microprocessor controls, galvanized steel cabinet, powder-coated and insulated galvanized steel drain pan, acoustic type fiber insulation, and double isolation compressor mounting. The heat pumps also feature iGate™ technology with two-way communication. The iGate control system allows end users and contractors to monitor the performance of the unit, custom tailor its operation, and diagnose any issues, right from the thermostat.
