MALTA, N.Y. — The Building Performance Institute Inc. (BPI) is now accepting comments on its new “Standard for Residential Building Quality Assurance Related to Post-Installation Field Inspections (BPI-6300-S-201x).”

BPI-6300-S-201x, also known as the “QA Field Inspection Standard” was developed by a working group created by BPI’s standards Technical Committee, and comprised of subject matter experts representing a wide variety of interest categories and geographical locations. The standard provides requirements for quality inspections for residential buildings. This standard includes protocols that provide clear guidance for third-party inspectors to confirm that home performance upgrade measures have been installed in accordance with work scope and applicable standards.

The standard is currently undergoing American National Standards Institute (ANSI) review, which includes a 45-day, public comment period as defined under BPI’s standards development process. Comments are being solicited from stakeholders and the general public.

Public comments will be accepted through Sept. 17. To view the standard and submit comments, visit http://bpi.pnl.gov/forum.php.
