Series HSV electric expansion valves offers precise superheat control. The valves feature a direct drive linear actuator using a hybrid step motor that provides increased power for its size, and eliminates unnecessary parts and their associated failure potential, the company said. With 1,300 steps in the operating range from fully opened to fully closed, the valve delivers precise superheat control even at low loads. Three HSV body configurations cover a range of capacities from 2 to 10 tons, which handles the majority of refrigeration systems requirements, said the company. The valves are compatible with all common refrigerants and oils. The HSV can be used with the manufacturer’s evaporator efficiency controller, which in addition to saving energy, provides data logging capability, remote monitoring, and communication.
