TORONTO — The Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH) recently released a market data report that showed ductless split system shipments had increased 30 percent in the fourth quarter of 2011 over the previous year.
Other sectors showing increases included unit heater shipments, by 15 percent; residential air conditioning shipments, by 14 percent; and residential furnace shipments, by 11 percent. Chiller bookings decreased by 39 percent and commercial air conditioning shipments fell 6 percent when compared to the fourth quarter of 2011.
