MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — According to the Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) manufacturer’s division, ductless split systems shipments showed the highest product sector gain in the fourth quarter of 2011, increasing by 30 percent over the previous year.
Other sectors showing increases included unit heater shipments, up 15 percent; residential air conditioning shipments, up 14 percent; and residential furnace shipments, up 11 percent. Chiller bookings decreased 39 percent and commercial air conditioning shipments fell 6 percent compared to the fourth quarter of 2010.
