Lochinvar: Solar Thermal Storage Tank
December 31, 2011
Lochinvar’s new Strato-Therm+ integrates three appliances into one by functioning as a solar thermal storage tank, indirect water heater, and buffer tank for hydronic applications. Offering a cost-effective, simple means for introducing solar thermal energy into any application, Strato-Therm+ leverages solar energy as well as the natural buoyancy of heated water to efficiently stratify the hydronic heating water stored in the tank. This stratification process allows domestic hot water to be generated instantaneously to meet temperature demand, says the company.
