MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — At the 43rd annual meeting of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) held in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, various people were presented with awards.

David Morden, chair of the HRAI Manufacturers Division, presented the HRAI Manufacturers Distinguished Service Award to Andre Patenaude of Emerson Climate Technologies Canada at the Divisions’ Annual General Meeting. Patenaude was presented with this award for his dedication and commitment to the Manufacturers Division and the Canadian industry. During the meeting, members also offered special thanks and recognized retiring director Scott Stevens of Broan-Nutone-Venmar for his commitment to the HRAI Manufacturers Division.

Other awards presented at HRAI Annual Meeting included ones given by the Contractors Division 2011, which presented the recognition awards for outstanding leadership within the Division and the HVACR contractor.

The Craig McCarty Memorial Award recognizes individuals who have shown outstanding leadership and dedication to the HVACR contracting industry in Canada by volunteering to serve in leadership roles within HRAI’s Contractors Division. John Murphy, formerly of J.E. Murphy Heating and Cooling in Windsor, Ontario, received the award.

Jim Wood, of McKeown and Wood Fuels Ltd. in Napanee, Ontario, was the recipient of the 2011 Gearld Inch Award for Chapter Leadership, which recognizes the special efforts of volunteers who have been instrumental in keeping HRAI-affiliated chapters and local/regional groups viable and meaningful to members.
