Kurt Nickel, training coordinator for the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 18’s Joint Apprentice Training Center in Milwaukee, shows off a banner he accepted at the Coordinator’s Conference at the International Sheet Metal Competition in Las Vegas, March 6-10. The banner was given as recognition to the training center for being an Outstanding NATE Testing Location for 2011. Nickel helped apprentices complete 85 tests, the most out of one International Training Institute (ITI) location. The ITI completed 320 NATE tests out of 18,600 completed nationwide.
