GRAPEVINE, Texas - The Joseph Groh Foundation recently has provided funding to two paralyzed people. The foundation provided funding for the purchase of a Bruno Stow-Away™ power transfer seat/wheelchair lift for Dallie Thomas’ (pictured) pickup truck and hand controls for driving. Thomas, of Amarillo, Texas, was rendered a paraplegic following a July 2010 accident. One of his uncles works for a paving contractor and another is employed by a distributor providing equipment to all construction companies specializing in large earthmoving projects.

For Tracy Gale, who was paralyzed due to a Jan. 2010 motor vehicle accident, the foundation provided funding for a handicapped van, which was subsequently retrofitted with hand controls. She and her husband co-own a plumbing contracting business in Bryan, Texas.

The foundation was formed in 2009 by Joe Groh, his sister, and a number of industry friends. The foundation is dedicated to providing informational and financial assistance to those who have suffered a life-altering injury or illness, and who have a direct or family connection to the construction industry.
