The Performance™ Series heat recovery ventilators (HRVs) and energy recovery ventilators (ERVs) are designed to expel stale, polluted air outdoors and refresh a home with clean outside air, while at the same time recovering energy and pre-tempering the air coming into the home. The heat exchanger core of the HRV and ERV works to recover heat or energy from the stale indoor air being exhausted and transfers it to the incoming outdoor air without sacrificing energy efficiency. This process raises or lowers the temperature of the incoming air to more closely match the temperature of the air circulating through the home. The high-efficiency heat exchanger core recovers up to 84 percent of the heat or energy from the stale indoor air being exhausted and transfers it to the clean incoming outdoor air. These units also help to maintain proper humidity levels in a home.
