The Spyder® family of controllers has been expanded with the addition of Spyder Micro, which offers powerful functionality sized for VAV and unitary applications, and BACnet® protocol to existing controls. With a smaller footprint for tight mounting requirements and multiple input/output options, the Spyder Micro can be used for new and retrofit applications. It is available for use with LonWorks. Spyder Micro includes a 15-Hz pulse meter input, which is important for energy monitoring applications, says the company. Other features include Sylk two-wire, polarity-insensitive communicating bus, which simplifies and speeds wiring and 200 function blocks and 220 network variables for greater programming capabilities. An optional conduit box helps meet code requirements. The availability of the BACnet protocol provides the openness and ability to use the Spyder controller with other devices or as standalone systems. It offers the flexibility to control and monitor any building automation process.
