COURSE TITLE:Cooling Professional Training

COURSE DESCRIPTION:This two-day course is designed for experienced heating contractors. Subjects covered include refrigerant cycles and heat, pump principles, comfort/thermal performance, ducted distribution system design, a/c and heat pump control strategies, load and sizing, controls and electrical inspection, ducted system diagnostics, refrigerant charge diagnostics, duct repair and sealing, pressure balancing, ventilation system installation, a/c clean and tune, postinstallation, health and safety issues, and tools, equipment, and materials. The class attendee must have completed New York State Energy Research and Development Authority Heating Professional training or Building Performance Institute (BPI) Inc. Heating Professional certification. EPA Section 608 (Type 2 or Universal) proof of certification is required in order to attend. The training will help prepare the attendee for BPI’s written and field tests for Cooling Professional certification (also known as Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Professional).
