EAST PETERSBURG, Pa. - Andrew Vanti, past national president of the National Association of Oil Heating Service Managers (NAOHSM), recently passed; he was 77. Vanti served as the national secretary and then as president of NAOHSM from 1986-96. He was retired from Dupuis Oil of Pawtucket, R.I., and Marvel-DeBross Oil of Taunton, Mass. He also was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

In 1999, Vanti received the Hugh McKee Award, the highest recognition of achievement from NAOHSM. He also was a member of the American Legion for more than 56 years. He served the legion as the State Finance chairman and president of the Convention Corp. of the R.I. American Legion at the time of his death.

He is survived by two sons, Andrew and Anthony; partner Gail; two grandsons and two granddaughters; and his Himalayan cat, Alexander.
