A heavy-duty hinge is designed for doors with a 25-mm return flange. It is quick and easy to install by welding, mechanical attachment, or both. The hinge pin slides for easy door removal, but remains attached to the enclosure by means of an acetal circlip. In the mild steel version, the door part is phosphatized; this gives good corrosion protection, provides an excellent surface for powder coating, and is suitable for welding. For outdoor applications in corrosive environments, such as on NEMA 4X boxes, a stainless version is available. According to the manufacturer, in the HVACR industry it is primarily used on control cabinets.
