ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Bill Vale, representative for Canadian Government and Industry Affairs for Lennox International Inc. (LII), announced his retirement effective March 31, 2008.

Vale has served in his current position since 2005 and has built a reputation as a voice for the HVACR industry in Canada.

“Bill has established himself as a strong voice for our industry in Canada,” said Kyle Gilley, vice president, LII Government Affairs. “His contributions to LII and to the Canadian HVACR industry are beyond measurement. He will be missed by the entire industry and we wish him a long and happy retirement.”

The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI), for which Vale served as a past chairman, recently honored him with its 2007 Merit Award, “in recognition of an outstanding contribution by an industry representative to the progress of the Institute and the Canadian HVACR industry.” In addition to his HRAI involvement, Vale has also served on the boards of Refrigeration Management Canada, the Ontario HVAC Coalition, and the Ontario Natural Gas Association. He is currently chair of the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (Ontario) Natural Gas Council, chairman in Canada of ISO Standards (HVAC), and serves as vice chair of the Strategic Steering Committee for the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). He is also past member of International Council of Refrigeration Manufacturers Association (ICARMA) and a member of ASHRAE.

Vale originally joined LII in 1974 as part of the company’s Canadian operations, serving in various sales, engineering, marketing, and industry affairs leadership roles until being appointed to his current position in 2005.
