The air treatment unit provides a total, multipronged attack against infectious agents commonly found in the health care industry. It grabs microscopic contaminants out of the air and neutralizes them. Pollutants are first pulled through a HEPA-grade filtration stage that removes particles up to 0.3 microns with 99.9 percent efficiency, according to the company. Airflow continues through an activated carbon stage for removal of allergenic agents and irritants. The air then passes through a series of high-output UV lamps, which neutralizes bacteria, viruses, fungi, mold spores, and odors. Finally, purified air enters the environment, giving the occupants the protection against airborne contaminants.
