JACKSON, Mich. - Heat Controller Inc. has more than doubled the warranty period on some of its more popular residential products. The parts warranty on condensing units, heat pumps, and coils increased to 12 years. The existing 12-year warranty on unit compressors remains unchanged. The warranty on parts of the company’s line of gas-fired furnaces has also been set at 12 years, increased from 5 years. For air handlers, the parts warranty has been extended from one to five years.
“The quality of our products is outstanding, and we believe these industry-leading warranties will be a major advantage for distributors to use in selling our equipment both to contractors and to homeowners,” said Jerry Troke, vice president of marketing, Heat Controller Inc.
Specific products series affected by the warranty enhancement are: RSE condensers; HRE heat pumps; “E” and “N” coils (cased and uncased); AHB, HAH, HFC, and HFE air handlers; 90 percent gas furnaces (lifetime warranty on heat exchanger remains unchanged); and 80 percent gas furnaces (20-year warranty on heat exchanger remains unchanged). These products are marketed under the Comfort-Aire and Century brand names.
A number of limitations apply to the new warranty program. Products must be installed in single family, privately owned residences, and registered within 90 days of purchase by the homeowner, either by mail-in card or online at the company’s Website. The warranty applies only to the original owner in the original installation.
