OBJECTIVE: Demolition and renovation of HVAC and plumbing services in second-floor addition without interrupting first-floor gift shop business.
DESCRIPTION: Comprehensive Energy Services Inc. (CES) is in the final stages of completing mechanical contracting services for the Walt Disney World “Rebirth Japan” project at Epcot in Orlando, Fla. Valued at $1.9 million, this project is under contract with general contractor Pooley Enterprises Inc. and is expected to be completed Aug. 31. “The Pooley and CES construction teams, owner’s representative, and owners on this project have been great to work with,” said Dave Westrich P.E., project manager. CES is completing the HVAC and plumbing renovation of the entire second floor of the Epcot Japan Pavilion and installing new plumbing and HVAC systems on a new two-story, 4,475-square-foot addition that includes an additional 186 tons of cooling. The HVAC systems consist of chilled and heated hot water, and the ductwork is galvanized steel and welded stainless steel. During construction, the first-floor gift shop has not been disrupted from conducting daily business.
“The planning, communication, scheduling, and implementation for this fast-track project have been exemplary.”
