Manufacturers Make Honor Roll

Hundreds of hours of design, research, labor, development, testing, and marketing culminate into one thing - a product. Once completed, this manufactured creation is boxed, packaged, and shipped to market to compete for top industry profits and honors.

This year’s entrants in The NEWS’ 2007 fourth annual Dealer Design Awards are no different. Each entrant competed fiercely to be at the top of the class. The winning products were awarded for innovation and contractor benefits. Making a product easier to install, service, and maintain helped each winner earn high marks.

The best candidates to judge product applications and contractor benefits are HVAC contractors. An overwhelming majority of the volunteer judges came to The NEWS’ contest, courtesy of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA).

“This fourth annual Dealer Design Awards program was a big hit with the entrants and even with the judges who threw themselves into the project,” said Mike Murphy, editor-in-chief of The NEWS. “We received a tremendous number of quality entries. I want to thank all of the manufacturers that entered their products in this prestigious competition; it is the only HVACR awards program that is solely judged by working contractors. I would like to especially thank ACCA. The organization represented nearly 95 percent of the judging contingent, and theirs was not an easy task as they worked through more than 100 entries.”
