MISSISSAUGA, Ontario - The HVACR Heritage Centre Canada is an online virtual museum that catalogs and promotes the historic achievements of the Canadian HVACR industry. The Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI), the Ontario Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (ORAC), and Local 787 of the Ontario Refrigeration Workers are the founding partners of this virtual endeavor. The museum maintains both federal and charitable status, and has recently elected Tom Boutette and Bill Podd as new directors to its board. During its third annual meeting, the HVACR Heritage Centre also re-elected Norman Fraser, president, Martin Vandenberg, vice president, Hart Holmstrom, treasurer, and Boutette as secretary. Directors re-elected were Mario Bernardi, Wayne Gamble, Ron McCarthy, Richard Siddall, and Ron Shuker.

Besides electing new members, the HVACR Heritage Centre has added new features to the online museum. There are now interactive technical quizzes, a monthly Mystery Challenge, videos of artifact demonstrations, and other educational features. Virtual archives and virtual artifact galleries are being introduced as well. Visitors to the Website can learn about the 344 artifacts in the Centre’s Founding Collection.
