BALTIMORE - Trane introduced its new Wireless Zone Sensor and Tracer Enterprise Solutionsâ„¢ (ES) multi-facility building control system at the National Facilities Management & Technology Conference and Expo held here.

According to the company, its Wireless Zone Sensor works with current and future Trane unit controllers of HVAC equipment. The sensor is designed to be easy-to-install, can be mounted anywhere in the building, and can be readily relocated to meet changing space configurations. The Wireless Zone Sensor is said to be cost-effective when compared to the installation time, wiring costs, and constraints of traditional wired sensors.

"Trane's Wireless Zone Sensor is the ideal solution for buildings where installation flexibility and comfort control are critical," said Jim Kohl, senior product manager for Trane's wireless and sensor products. "Because of its easy installation and flexible use, it's great for hard-to-wire buildings made of stone, brick, or concrete block, or for buildings with aesthetic constraints such as historic and high profile properties. It is particularly appropriate for frequently renovated spaces and high-tech properties."

Tracer ES is a Web-based software application designed to connect building systems on an enterprise level and provide building owners and managers with access to multiple buildings from any computer on their network or the Web. Tracer ES performs daily operations like reporting on status of buildings, systems, and equipment; scheduling by room, building, or enterprise; data collection and analysis; and troubleshooting and alarm management.
