MyHomeKey, the web portal where visitors could schedule service and maintenance appointments with companies such as Sears, has officially shut down. The site was recently featured in a News’ article about a Sears’ clean and inspect promotion for furnaces.
According to Ron Kim of Sherwood Partners, the trustee for creditors of MyHomeKey, the website was “hemorrhaging money” and the end came very quickly.
“The service provided by MyHomeKey was invaluable,” Kim added. “But the site couldn’t raise money during a second round of funding.”
