Michigan Code of Conduct Changed for Utilities
The Michigan Public Service Commission amended the electric Code of Conduct for all electric utilities regulated by the Commission. When discussing the revisions, lawyers for the Michigan Association of Air Conditioning Contractors of America (MIACCA) said, “The change that is most significant to the Michigan Alliance for Fair Competition members is the elimination of the prohibition against the exchange of information and customer referrals between regulated electric utilities and their unregulated affiliates.”
The code was issued to promote fair competition by establishing measures to prevent cross-subsidization. MIACCA members plan to meet to discuss the changes.
