By providing a coil with two independent headers, the MV multiheader integral face and bypass coil allows the controls to completely shut down one-half of the coil rows, allowing the integral dampers to readjust to a more fully open position. This provides a greater range of control modulation. By shutting down one-half of the coil during part-load conditions, the coil permits significant energy savings to be achieved through reduced hot water pumping requirements in variable-capacity pumping systems, says the company. With increased damper control, the coils minimize temperature stratification and freezestat trips in mild weather.
