Nick Hughes didn't know what career he wanted to pursue when he left the U.S. Navy three years ago. Now, he will soon graduate from the two-year applied science in air conditioning technology program at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) as the recipient of the Post 9/11 Veterans Tools Award.

Kenneth D. Goodrich, managing partner of US Peach LLC, an HVAC and plumbing service provider, recently announced the acquisition of The Honest Plumber, Heating & Air, a Las Vegas-based air conditioning, heating, and plumbing company, and Corona, California-based Walton’s Air Conditioning.

The veterans received toolkits containing the essential hand tools and diagnostics necessary to start a career in the HVAC field at a special awards ceremony at CSN’s Cheyenne Campus.

This diverse class of NEWSmakers represents government regulation, distribution, contracting, and more. Each honoree instituted a noticeable shift in the industry’s future.

With more than 26 years in the industry, Goodrich said he’s acquired more than 60 businesses. At first, it was just to gain customers, but, as time progressed, things changed.

As the company celebrates its 75^th anniversary, it is no longer in survival mode and is more focused on continued, long-term success.
