Steve Adkins
Steve Adkins, director of engineering for Optimas Solutions, has spent almost two decades applying his skills to engineering and business development projects at Optimas (formerly Anixter). In his role, he has built and managed the engineering group that collaborates with customers to design-in and re-design fastener technology solutions, which has grown to 11 engineers including engineers in Mexico and United Kingdom.
Prior to Optimas, Adkins worked at Flexalloy, Inc. for eight years as program manager and lead engineer for the Volvo Truck account and eventually Volvo CE, Bus, and Penta accounts.
After Flexalloy, Adkins was part of the National Accounts Team at fastener distributor Wurth Inc., where his accounts included AO Smith, Blue Bird Bus, Bobcat, MTD and PACCAR. During his time at Wurth, he managed the PACCAR account and helped develop the engineering group at Wurth.
In addition to experience in the fastener industry, Adkins has worked in a variety of manufacturing roles for Ford Motor Company, ITT Automation, and Midway Products. Adkins has a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Akron.
