The Department of Energy (DOE) has opened the rulemaking process to consider whether or not to raise the existing minimum SEER ratings for air conditioners and heat pumps. The DOE will also consider whether to create regional standards for those products. The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 granted DOE the authority to create up to two separate regional standards.

The donated posters are free to MSCA members and are expected to be used on service vehicles across the country.
UT Electronic Controls (UTEC), a unit of Carrier Corp., has donated more than $300,000 in cash and equipment to the Huntington County Habitat for Humanity. Celebrating its 10th home sponsorship and its 10th year of supporting this organization, UTEC presented a $55,000 check to sponsor the construction of an entire house.
