The Cooling Technology Institute (CTI) certified Baltimore Aircoil Co.’s (BAC’s) thermal performance of its FXV, VF1, and VFL Closed Circuit Cooling Towers with both ethylene and propylene glycol as the process fluid. According to BAC, this is the first time the thermal performance of closed circuit cooling towers has been certified with fluids other than water by CTI.
Effective April 1, General Filters Inc. is no longer manufacturing the E2 Automatic Digital Humidistat. The E2 will temporarily be replaced with the E1 Automatic Electronic Humidistat. The GeneralAire Elite Steam Humidifier models and GeneralAire Elite 1000 and 900 Automatic Model Flow-Through Humidifiers will now be shipped with the E1.

The industry’s shipment numbers continue to experience a steady cooling effect as evidenced by the February reports released by the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI). According to AHRI, combined U.S. factory shipments of central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps were down 21 percent compared to February of last year.
