Registration is now open for the third annual Building Performance Forum, set for October 7-8, 2014, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The event will be presented by ACCA and the Building Performance Institute (BPI), in conjunction with media partner, the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration News.

IKEA has officially plugged-in an expansion of the solar rooftop array on its Perryville, Maryland, distribution center. The company said installation of the new solar panels nearly doubles the size of the original project, which already was the state’s largest rooftop array.

The Building Performance Institute Inc. (BPI) has announced that BPI-1100-T-201x: Home Energy Auditing Standard is now available for public comment through Aug. 25, 2014. BPI said the standard was developed to clarify and standardize what is included in a whole-building, science-based energy audit of existing homes.

Smartcool Systems Inc. announced that it has received approval for beta testing of its energy efficiency technology with a Florida-based food distribution firm. This test is the next phase in introducing its technology to the refrigerated transport sector.

Watsco Inc., a distributor of HVAC and refrigeration equipment, reported record results for the second quarter and for the six months ended June 30, 2014. Among key performance metrics, revenues increased 4 percent to a record $1.17 billion.
