Southland Industries Announces New Subsidiary, Envise

Southland Industries, one of the nation’s largest mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) building systems firms, has launched a new wholly owned subsidiary, called Envise. As a building management systems integrator, Envise will focus on analytics, building management systems, and equipment lifecycle management.

Air Reps LLC, based in Bellevue, Washington, is expanding its territory to Oregon by combining operations with Oregon Air Reps, resulting in one unified presence under the Air Reps name. The move makes Air Reps LLC the primary Daikin Applied and Daikin North America HVAC equipment sales representative in the region.

GE Brings PTAC Production Back from Overseas to the US

Packaged terminal air conditioner line will begin production in first quarter of 2016

GE announced that its packaged terminal air conditioners (PTACs) formerly produced overseas will now be manufactured at its Appliance Park facility in Louisville, Kentucky. The new Zoneline® units, mainly used in the hotel/motel industry, will start full production in the first quarter of 2016.

NAIMA Says 90% of US Homes Are Under-Insulated

Boosting insulation could cut electricity use by about 5 percent and natural gas use by more than 10 percent

Based on new research, the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) estimates that roughly 90 percent of existing U.S. homes are under-insulated, wasting HVAC energy use, money, and decreasing comfort for homeowners.
