After 15 months of monitoring, researchers report that even with its airtight construction, IAQ in the two-story home that serves as a laboratory is better than the IAQ in new, conventionally built houses.

CHP to Provide Electricity, Hot Water, Pool Heating for Fitness Facility

System will enable cost savings
September 7, 2015

Tecogen® Inc. has announced the sale of a CM-60 combined heat and power (CHP) module to the Supreme Sports Club. In addition to providing electrical power to the facility, the CHP system will provide domestic hot water and pool heating at a far lower overall operating cost than the existing configuration, said Tecogen.

Building Efficiency Software Can Now Be ‘Autotuned’

Reduces the amount of time and expertise needed to optimize building parameters

A set of automated calibration techniques for tuning residential and commercial building energy efficiency software models to match measured data is now available as open source code. The Autotune code, developed at the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), is available on GitHub.
