On Sept. 1, it was 80 years since Mads Clausen founded Danfoss in his parents’ farmhouse in Nordborg, Denmark. Since then, the business has grown from a solo enterprise into one of the world's leading suppliers of energy-efficient products and solutions, employing a staff of 23,000 and with sales in more than 100 countries.
Funding for renewable incentives comes from a variety of sources including federal, state, and private funds. Although many of these incentives are directed at the end user — tax breaks, loans, and rebates can be used by contractors to open the door for new business in the HVAC marketplace.

Aircuity, an airside efficiency solutions company, has announced the receipt of a $3 million investment from CCM US LLC, a Washington, D.C.-based asset management group investing in clean energy and real estate. Aircuity said the investment provides expansion capital to fund its continued growth.
Many schools are turning to highly efficient HVAC solutions for both new-build and retrofit projects, indicating that the once-novel concept of LEED-certified and zero-energy schools may soon become commonplace in school districts across the U.S.
The roundtable discussion joined HVAC OEMs, consultants, and contractors with advocacy and utility groups, and authorities in research and policy to examine the opportunity of investment in next-generation energy infrastructure for commercial buildings.
