As part of an effort to encourage energy innovation and commercialization, the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Office of Technology Transitions (OTT) has issued its first solicitation for proposals to help bring cutting-edge energy technologies to market.

As Modine Mfg. Co. celebrates its 100^th anniversary this year, the manufacturer announced its 10,000-mile cross-country Innovation Tour at the AHR Expo in Orlando, Florida.

Aaon Heating and Cooling Products took home the gold award in the 2015 Dealer Design Awards Ventilation Products category for its Low Leakage Damper. 

The KE2 Low Temp + Defrost controller by KE2 Therm Solutions Inc. received the gold award for the Commercial Controls category in the 2015 Dealer Design Awards. 

The SPLIT and PACK Series Specialty Environment HVAC cooling systems feature an all-aluminum body, all-aluminum evaporator coils, and multiple evaporator outlet locations. 

Everyone says they want innovation in their organization, but when an ambitious employee offers it, the idea is often shot down. Senior leaders often miss the value-creating potential of a new concept because they either don’t take the time to really listen and delve into it, or the innovating employee presents it in the wrong way.

The 24,037-square-foot facility, which houses classrooms and meeting space for hydronic training and educational purposes, achieved 62 points out of a total of 79 possible points for LEED Gold.

Representing all major segments of the HVACR marketplace, the winning entries were honored in 10 categories as the most innovative new products among the thousands that will be displayed at the Jan. 26-28 event in Chicago. 

Wells Fargo has launched its Innovation Incubator (IN2) program, a $10 million grant for clean technology startups funded by the Wells Fargo Foundation and co-administered by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to foster the development of early stage clean technologies for commercial buildings.

The facility will foster an ambitious, collaborative approach to conducting research to create new technologies that address HVACR industry challenges.
